Fence demo & replacement began 4-27-2011

Well, the inhouse work on fence demolition finally began on Wednesday 4-27, The installers began on Thursday 4-28. The work will be done in three phases. Phase 1 is the 220+/- ft. stretch by the barBQ area L shaped approx. length of 120' then L shaped to the 4.5 acre vacant lot about 90'. Phase two is about 300' heading mauka to Haleiwa Rd. through a banyan tree. Phase 3 is the North end of the property by Japanese school Haleiwa Rd. makai to the beach. So far what will be done (if anything) for phase 4 fronting the property along Haleiwa Rd. has not been decided on.

The picture above is our fence storage shed, plans pre-con meeting room and building construction office.

We didn't think that another coat of paint would do any good

This is how termite eaten our SW end of our property fence was.

There was a lot of graffiti on the fence. I wish they would have used a paint that would have matched better. But then I guess you couldn't call that graffiti

Then there was the banyan tree that grew through the fence.

At first I thought about caulking, but then . . . thought a temporary brace might be better.

This is the commercial duty fencing that was chosen to put up.

So we had to remove the old fence. I began with the Recycle Bin next to the pine tree stump.

This is the fence fronting 101-104 before it got gone

This is what the fence line looks like after the fence got gone.

This is the SW end of the property butting against the big vacant lot, makai stretch in front of units 101-104.

These two pictures are after the fence was removed along the vacant lot.

Drapery Rods or Curtain Rods

There are a number of drapery tracks. All slide, but some slide better than others. I decided to upgrade mine to a track that has bearing clips that hold the curtains.

I chose to use Custom Window Service located at 3012 Waialae Ave. His price was fair and service was without issue.

Phone Richard at: 734-4416. He don't have a E address.

Living Room
Since the floor to ceiling height is exactly 8' (96") less the track and clearance to the floor. There are two sections to work with, #1 section is by the sliding door and the #2 section
The curtain size you will need is:
by #1 section 93" x 6' or 2@ 3' panels (some sew the 2@ 3' panels together)
by #2 section 93" x 7' or 3@ 3' panels bunched together.

The full floor width is 13'4". Another trick is to sew or glue on velcro on the laps to attach them together.

Master Bedroom
The louvered windows covering is 9'7" x 32". Personally, we used a pre-made home depot curtain that measured 44" long and width to match.
